"Flashes of Light Blue Light" Over Poland: Experts Speak Out

The editors of the Paranormalna Polska Facebook page received messages from people fascinated by the incident. People "couldn't explain" what they saw in the sky. It became a great mystery.
Experts from the Skytinel project helped solve the mystery.
Mysterious flashes in the sky. They were seen by residents of several provinces. The authors of the Facebook post reported that on the night of July 23-24 – between Głogów and Zielona Góra – a superbolide (i.e. a massive object that entered the Earth's atmosphere and began to burn spectacularly) flew over people's heads.
"The extremely bright meteor was accompanied by (...) sonic booms," they write. Several Skytinel observation stations managed to record the phenomenon. It entered the atmosphere "at a speed of 22 km per second and at a steep angle to the ground." Experts first spotted it when it was approximately 95 km from the "blue" planet's surface. " During its flight, the [space – ed.] rock underwent numerous fragmentation events, especially when it reached an altitude of less than 35 km. A series of intense fragmentation events occurred, which allowed small meteorites to fall to Earth," experts say.
Superbolides shine much brighter than Earth's satellite, the Moon. They approached us after traveling a long way from the asteroid belt. The meteor was likely a " common chondrite-type rock," they estimate.
Internet users are impressed. "Great view."Internet users who witnessed the event consider it "unforgettable." " I was just walking my dog! What a sight," the man writes. The space enthusiast even heard a "sound." "It was amazing," he says.
The superbolide was also visible from Warsaw. "It was low on the western horizon when I happened to glance up at the sky," claims a resident of the Polish capital.
